RIIS Media Digital Storytelling Workshop


RIIS Media Project is hosting a storytelling workshop with Evie Ruddy for anyone wishing to share their family story as part of the RIIS legacy.  Evie will show you how to turn a few pictures and your memories and stories into a beautiful digital story.  We will be hosting the finished videos on our website, unless otherwise specified.  This workshop is free and you do not have to be a descendant of a Regina Indian Industrial School student, but you must email riismediaproject@gmail.com to register.

Location: Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative, #301-1822 Scarth Street, Regina, SK

Session 1: Wednesday, June 24, 2015  6pm to 9pm

Lisa Hein, an archeologist with Stantec, will give a presentation on the Regina Indian Industrial School's history and unmarked cemetery site.

• Overview of scriptwriting elements

• Story Circle: share script ideas 
• Begin scriptwriting

Session 2: Saturday, June 27, 2015  10am to 4pm

• Finalize and record scripts

• Audacity and audio editing tutorial

• Video editing tutorial

• How to find copyright-free music
• Complete story editing
• Export movies
• Sharing of digital stories
